I recently came across this “100 Followers Challenge” on Medium, and it seemed a promising way to increase the writer’s visibility by quickly expanding the number of followers.
I appreciate all of my followers! And I usually gladly return all claps and follows that I receive. This is because I feel valued by my readers as they spend time reading my posts.
However, while reading the ‘Getting started with the Partner Program’ article, I discovered that to join the Partner Program, you first need to meet two eligibility requirements:
- Have at least 100 followers on Medium
- Have published at least one story on Medium in the past (Note: stories must follow Medium rules, cannot be responses, and must not include meta posts about the Partner Program or follow-for-follow posts)
So, it clearly states that meta posts about Partner Program or follow-for-follow posts should NOT be included. This means some tactics may entice us to make quick bucks, but there is always a downside.
